WED, MAY 24, 2017 - Broxton (0-1) gave up an earned run on a hit and a walk over two-thirds of an inning in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers. He also recorded a strikeout. Brought on in the 13th in relief of closer Seung-Hwan Oh, Broxton breezed through Austin Barnes and Yasiel Puig before issuing a two-out walk to Kike Hernandez. He then promptly surrendered a double to Logan Forsythe on a 1-1 pitch, ending the 13-inning marathon. It was the second stumble for Broxton over his last three outings, as he'd given up two earned runs to the Giants without getting an out on May 19 as well. The 32-year-old has put together multiple stretches of scoreless efforts, but has also given up multiple earned runs in four of the five outings in which he's been scored upon. That's led to an unsightly 6.75 ERA and 2.18 WHIP over 7.2 innings, despite the fact that Broxton has also blanked opponents in 12 other appearances.
