FRI, MARCH 18, 2016 - Penny will retire, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports. Penny, who signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays in December, gave up eight runs in seven spring training innings, posting a 1-1 record with the team. In his first three years in the majors, Penny became a workhorse for the Dodgers, recording three straight seasons with 170-plus innings pitched and making back-to-back All Star appearances in 2006-07. However, his career quickly spiraled out of control from there, as he only managed to reach the 170 inning plateau twice in the subsequent years. He'll end his career with 4.29 ERA through 1,925 innings.
